Baja California authorities observe possibilities of traffic light change

In the last 45 days alone, the number of intubated patients has been decreasing in the state; totaling 115 so far

So far in the pandemic 41 thousand 134 Baja Californians have been infected by COVID-19 and 6 thousand 770 more have lost their lives.

Despite this, hospital occupancy in the state has decreased to 44.43%, with 531 available beds and 170 ventilators in general.

In addition, according to the head of the Baja California Health Secretariat, Alonso Pérez Rico, in the last 45 days the number of intubated patients has been decreasing; totaling 115 so far. At the same time, the number of people who were hospitalized this Wednesday due to COVID-19 is 344.

"Today we can tell you that the indicators are showing that we will soon change color. We are not yet saying that we are going to change color, it is still something that has to be analyzed with the head of the Executive; however, right now we are doing things very well, we are more and more prepared, we are more aware and we hope that this trend will continue", said the Secretary of Health.

Meanwhile, the Effective Reproduction Rate (ER) of this virus is below one (0.79), which is recommended, meaning that a person with COVID-19 can infect only one other person in the entity.

At the moment, the active cases in Baja California are 970, so this week the region continues in red traffic light.
