Derived from a request that reached the government of Baja California regarding the filling of home oxygen and the hoarding of the tanks that carry it, by various people to rent them, the Secretary of Health of this state contacted a company before the end of 2020 to supply them with medical oxygen, according to the head of this agency Alonso Pérez Rico.

According to the Secretary, they have been working on this issue for the last six weeks, managing to start talks with the company that supplies this type of oxygen to the entire northwest of the country, "to set up oxygen tank modules so that they can be refilled completely free of charge", he said.

The Secretariat of Health gives prescriptions to COVID-19 patients when they are discharged with which they can acquire oxygen completely free of charge; thus, when they attend these modules ''they will not go to replace their tank, they will refill the oxygen, the oxygen prescribed by the Secretariat of Health to validate that they need oxygen," he indicated.

So far this initiative has made great progress, so it is expected to be completed soon, and to analyze where these modules will be located, since "when this material is not handled properly it can be dangerous", he added.

Pérez Rico mentioned that as soon as the installation is completed, the points that will provide this service will be announced.
