According to the head of the Baja California Health Department, Alonso Pérez Rico, on Tuesday 9 thousand 750 doses of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine arrived to be applied to the first line health sector of the different institutions that attend patients with this disease.
During the ceremony that took place this Wednesday to start the vaccination plan in the entity, the Secretary mentioned how these vaccines were distributed.
The Secretary of Health received 3 thousand 675, one thousand 300 for the hospital in Mexicali, one thousand 375 for the hospital in Tijuana and one thousand more for the hospital in Ensenada. For their part, the hospitals of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) received 4 thousand 300 doses, one thousand for their facilities in the state capital, 2 thousand 400 for the Regional General Hospital 1 and Regional General Hospital 20, both in Tijuana. Another 700 vaccines for the hospital in Ensenada and 200 for the one located in Tecate.
ISSSTE received one thousand 385 doses of this drug, 585 for Mexicali, 300 for Ensenada and 500 for Tijuana. According to Pérez Rico, this institution will also be in charge of vaccinating ISSSTECALI personnel and those present in the state's fever clinics.
In addition to these institutions of the health sector, Sedena obtained 250 vaccines, 100 of them for its personnel in Mexicali and 150 for the one working in Ensenada. IMSS Bienestar located in the new municipality of Baja California, San Quintín, also received 150 vaccines for its health personnel.
According to the Health Secretary, it is expected that by next Tuesday a similar amount of vaccines will arrive in this state to vaccinate the rest of this sector.
