Baja California could change color under the COVID-19 traffic light chart: 818 active cases

This week the status remains in orange, but on Wednesday the indicators are sent to know if it continues or if the color under the traffic light chart changes for the next week

With a not very encouraging presentation, the Secretary of Health of Baja California, Alonso Pérez Rico informed that the state will remain this week in orange coloring of the COVID-19 epidemiological traffic light chart, however this could change very soon.

This after adding 818 active cases in the region, of which Mexicali, Tijuana and Ensenada continue to be the ones that concentrate most of these by registering 294, 260 and 183 active cases respectively.

"All municipalities in Baja California have an upward trend in terms of active cases," said the Secretary of Health this Monday, November 30.

He also reminded that on Wednesdays of each week is when the indicators are sent to the federal authorities to know if the following week the state will continue in the same color of the traffic light chart or will it change. "We have three days to control the ascent or to plan the foundation of a change of color," he said.

As of Monday morning, the accumulated positive cases are 25 thousand 700, after having registered 142 new cases, of which 61 were located in Tijuana, 55 in Ensenada, 22 in Mexicali and four in San Quintín. At this point, Mexicali is the one that registers most positive cases, with 11 thousand 258 in total.

In the case of deaths, which unfortunately total 4 thousand 277, in the last 24 hours 19 more were registered, of which 11 belong to Tijuana, four to Ensenada, three to Tecate and one to Mexicali. Today, Tijuana is where most deaths are registered in the state, with one thousand 822.
