Mexico exceeds one million positive COVID-19 cases

Since the pandemic began, there have been 1,003,253 cases nationally

It is a dark day for México and it seems that the light is still far from arriving with a vaccine that will put an end to the global pandemic, as the country has already surpassed the one million positive COVID-19 cases.

The information was released by the Ministry of Health in a press conference from the National Palace, where they indicated that since the beginning of the pandemic there have been 1,003,253 cases nationwide and 97 thousand 624 deaths related to this disease.

The only state that is currently under the red traffic light is Chihuahua, while Baja California is still under orange, a situation that could change in the coming days because San Diego has registered a critical increase of cases entering the purple tier, the most restrictive level regarding the pandemic. In addition, the last few days there have been 40 more intubated cases than last week in Tijuana's hospitals.

For its part, Campeche is the only state under a green light. Chiapas, Michoacán, Nayarit, Oaxaca, Puebla, Quintana Roo, Tabasco, Tamaulipas, Tlaxcala and Veracruz are under yellow.

Besides Baja California, the following are under orange: Baja California Sur, Aguascalientes, México City, Coahuila, Colima, Estado de México, Guanajuato, Guerrero, Hidalgo, Jalisco, Nuevo León, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Sinaloa, Sonora, Yucatán and Zacatecas.
