Mexicali registers 48 of the 83 new COVID-19 cases in Baja California

This municipality remains the most affected by the pandemic by registering almost half of the positive cases in the entity

The Secretary of Health, Alonso Pérez Rico, presented this Friday, November 6, the context in which Baja California finds itself regarding the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Pérez Rico, the state registered 83 new cases by PCR, of which 48 were reported in Mexicali, a municipality that remains the most affected by this disease.

The rest of these new cases were reported in: Tijuana (27), Ensenada (2), San Quintín (4), Tecate (1) and San Felipe (1).

Thus, the region increases its accumulated active cases to 22 thousand 676, of which 10 thousand 244 are from the state capital, a municipality that also registers the highest number of patients who have lost their live to COVID-19, by registering one thousand 688 of the 3 thousand 918 deaths at the state level.

It is worth mentioning that even though active cases have decreased in Baja California, Mexicali is where most of them are located: 194 of the 325.

Despite this panorama, which according to the Secretary of Health could worsen due to the celebrations of October 31st and those to come, the state has achieved the recovery of 16 thousand 690 patients infected by the current coronavirus.
