This office, which is the first to be located within an international airport in Mexico's history, will serve nearly 200 thousand people a year, with a schedule from 8:00 in the morning to 8:00 at night, as informed in a press release.

According to Secretary Marcelo Ebrard, they plan to replicate this office in the airports with the greatest influx of people in Mexico, making the country one of the few nations to have this service.

Among the airports contemplated is the International Airport of Tijuana in Baja California, according to the Governor of this state, who was invited to the inauguration of this new delegation in Mexico City last Monday, October 5th.

"Approval was obtained so that the airport group of the Baja California airport like the one in Mexico City, will allow us to open an office like the one in this airport," mentioned the governor during his daily conference on Monday.

According to the authority, this office will facilitate the processing of passports or any other related to the SRE at a time similar to that of the AICM.
