Since Baja California entered the orange traffic light within the COVID-19 epidemiological alert chart; parks, sports units and beaches increased their occupation to 50%, however, the sanitary measures continue to be applied.

For that reason, people can be fined if they loiter, stand or stop in a fixed area of Playas de Tijuana sunbathing in front of the sea. The instruction from the authorities is that all visitors must be on the move, whether walking, running or jogging, to avoid the spread of the virus.

Since many people are unaware of the instruction, elements of the municipal police patrol the coast informing people and asking them to leave or be on the move.

These same measures were taken in San Diego when the beaches reopened a few months ago, yet several people ignored and deployed their chairs or took entire families to stop and eat on the sand, encouraging other citizens to do the same and putting themselves at risk.

Remember that access to the beach in Tijuana is from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
