Officers seized sandals, scarves and wallets at the Los Angeles airport.

Today, September 30, CBP officials in cooperation with import specialists from the Consumer Products and Mass Marketing Centers seized 7170 counterfeit products bound for China at the Los Angeles Airport.

Among the seizures the following were found:

- 2175 counterfeit Louis Vuitton sandals
- 475 fake Chanel sandals
- 450 fake Dior sandals
- 400 counterfeit Fendi sandals
- 375 Versace fake sandals
- 325 fake Gucci sandals
- 572 fake Dior crossover bags
- 625 counterfeit Louis Vuitton clutches
- 357 fake Gucci wallets
- 1,100 fake Louis Vuitton scarves

All this with an estimated value of $ 4,899,905.00.
The department reports that these boxes arrived on July 14, but on a routine inspection they realized what they were carrying. The 198 boxes were supposed to contain "office plastic supplies" but later they discovered that they did not.

"As the holiday shopping season quickly approaches, consumers should proceed with caution when shopping online," said LaFonda Sutton-Burke, CBP LAX area port director.

CBP officials say part of their job is to implement preventative measures to take care of intellectual property. Even though traffic increases during the season. Counterfeiting is a serious crime and citizens are invited to report people who engage in this illegal activity.

If you want to report something suspicious about it you can contact the e-Allegation Business Violation Reporting System online or by calling 1-800-BE-ALERT.
