Through a press release, the Mexican government informed that at least 100 members of the National Forestry Commission (Conafor) were sent to California, United States, with the objective of fighting the recent forest fires in this location.

In addition to these fighters, a technical liaison was sent to coordinate the five brigades that will each be composed of 20 fighters, including one chief per brigade.

The support was requested by the U.S. government so that "all personnel have protective equipment, are physically fit and meet the standards of training and education requested by the United States," the statement said.

Once these 100 Mexicans arrive in California, they will be coordinated by the U.S. Forest Service and will begin activities in Sequoia National Park.

According to the authorities, Baja California is currently the only state in Mexico with active fires, which are treated with the local resources of the three orders of government.

"It is worth mentioning that the U.S. Government, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), has allocated more than 2 million U.S. dollars in the last 10 years for cooperation in fire management," the document highlighted.

What do you think of this support provided by Mexico to the United States?
