This Thursday, a change was announced in the fast lanes of the San Ysidro checkpoint, and it is the medical lane which will be relocated in December to the left side of the checkpoint, as confirmed by authorities in Tijuana.

The change was requested by U.S. authorities and goes hand in hand with the expansion work at the port of entry, which will include eight additional lanes for a total of 35 lanes at the San Ysidro checkpoint.

Access to the so-called ''fast line'' for users of medical services and business tourism, will be from December onwards on Paseo de los Heroes street.

While construction work is underway for the new location of the lane, it will remain in operation at the same site as always, said Arturo Perez Behr, Secretary of Economic Development of Tijuana, who also took advantage of the moment to report that an average of 400 users attend daily.

It is assumed that the new lane will have an extension of 1.1 kilometers, and requires an investment of approximately one million pesos, which includes the construction of the new booth, as well as signaling.
