150 Fentanyl tablets seized at Tijuana Airport

On September 13, the National Guard found this package with illegal substances

Today at the General Abelardo L. Rodriguez International Airport in Tijuana, the National Guard seized a package of narcotics, which contained a portrait with 150 fentanyl tablets inside.

What is fentanyl?

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid similar to morphine, but 50 to 100 times stronger. It is a prescription drug, and it is also used illegally. It is usually prescribed to patients with severe pain, for example, after an operation.

"We detected illicit substances in objects, thanks to the specialization of our canine binomials. At the Tijuana B.C. International Airport, we secured a portrait that concealed about 150 pills of apparent fentanyl," details the National Guard.
