The COVID-19 pandemic has not yet ended in Baja California, since as of this Sunday, September 6, the number of positive cases totals 17 thousand 642, with Mexicali being the municipality with the highest number of these cases, registering 8 thousand 330.

However, Tijuana was the municipality that registered more new cases compared to the rest, adding 85 of them, while Mexicali reported 53 of the 187 of all the state's cases.

In turn, in the border city there were nine new deaths caused by this virus, for a total of one thousand 305 deaths, which in comparison to Mexicali are less, since the state capital reported 4 new deaths, for a total of one thousand 471 out of the 3 thousand 219 registered in Baja California.

Unfortunately, it seems that the reopening or lack of follow-up on health measures is affecting Tijuana residents, since the city also increased its number of active cases to 274, maintaining it as the municipality with the most of these cases; and bringing the region to a total of 657 active cases.

But not all news is bad, since at least 10 thousand and 64 Baja Californians have managed to recover from coronavirus, most of them residents of Mexicali.
