On Monday, July 20, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that its Trusted Traveler enrollment centers (Global Entry, TSA Pre✓®, SENTRI, NEXUS, and FAST) will extend their office closures.

The closure is extended until September 8, 2020, to ensure the health and safety of applicants to the program, as well as CBP staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The decision was made in consultation with CBP health and safety experts who continue to monitor an increase in cases of COVID-19 in the United States. CBP's top priority is to ensure the health and safety of the American people.

Applicants for Trusted Traveler Programs who have scheduled interviews at registration centers before September 7 must reschedule their appointments. To reschedule, applicants must log in to their program account starting September 8 and use the online appointment scheduling tool.

In order to minimize the impact of the enrollment site closure on program applicants, CBP has further extended the period of time applicants have to complete the enrollment process. Each applicant will now have 545 days from the date of conditional approval to complete the enrollment process.

In addition, CBP will extend up to 18 months of program benefits for members who apply for renewal before their current membership expires.

The Enrollment on Arrival program has remained operational and continues to be the best option for applicants, who have been conditionally approved for Global Entry, to complete the enrollment process without a pre-scheduled interview.

Trusted Traveler programs support CBP's mission of securing U.S. borders while facilitating legal travel and trade. These innovative programs enable more than nine million pre-approved low-risk travelers to bypass traditional CBP screening lines and receive expedited processing upon entry into the United States.
