“A celebration invented by greeting card manufacturers so that people feel like crap”, that’s what Joel from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind says about Valentine’s Day, and maybe at this point we might think the same way he does.
Going out in this holiday has become a chaos, specially in Tijuana, both in establishments and in its streets. And if you’re not fully convinced, here are 4 reasons why going out on Valentine’s Day is the worst thing you can do.
4. Restaurants are full
It doesn’t matter if the restaurant is big or small, the wait time could be insanely long this February 14th.
3. Traffic everywhere
If you’re driving around Zona Rio, Blvd Agua Caliente, or downtown and notice traffic, the first thing you might think is that there’s a soccer game at the Xolos Stadium, or that the weekend is approaching. And Valentine’s Day will not be the exception, because not only do you have to wait long lines to get into your favorite restaurant, but the time to get there will be unbearable due to heavy traffic.
2. Everything will be more expensive
We all know that prices go up on Valentin’s Day, so if you didn’t get your significant other’s gift on time and you’re just looking for something to get for them, be prepared, because it’s probably gonna cost you more or you won’t be able to find what you’re looking for.
1. It’s a working day and your food might not be what you expected
Valentine’s Day will fall on a Thursday, which means you will have to be rushing to get to the restaurant right after work and having to deal with traffic, plus getting into the restaurant. Parking might be another problem even to go to the beach, park, etc.
