The nongovernmental organization Oxfam confirmed that it would take more than a century for Mexico to eradicate poverty.

This was the result of a data analysis provided by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) on the income of Mexican homes.

At the end of August Inegi reported that the poorest homes in the country, in a quarterly basis, earned an average of 6,820 pesos (384.00 dlls), while the richest received 160 thousand 820 pesos (more than 9,000 dlls).

As you can see, there is still a big difference between the incomes of the rich and the poor in Mexico.

It was the same organization that stated that this generation will not have the opportunity to see the change in the reduction of poverty, which will take Mexico around 120 years.

It is a delicate situation, since although some government agencies presume that poverty is being fought, the reality is that in Mexico, 43% of the population is considered of limited resources.

According to the National Evaluation Council of Social Development Policy, from 2014 to 2016, poverty in Mexico was reduced by 3.5%.
