6th Baja Blues Fest at Rosarito Beach Hotel To Once Again Help Kids With 'The Blues'

Great Oceanfront Musical Event Will Be Aug. 18-20

ROSARITO BEACH, BAJA CALIFORNIA, MEXICO- The 6th annual Baja Blues Fest, a celebration of the iconic music and a fundraiser for helping kids with "the Blues," will be held from Aug. 18-20 in the oceanfront gardens of the Rosarito Beach Hotel & Resort.

Last year the festival, which includes food booths and art exhibits, raised $16,000 for four local children's groups, Cruz Roja and the Flying Samaritans health clinics.

With an ambitious talent lineup and expanded format, the Baja Blues Fest hopes to raise even more this year for regional charities, said organizer Jackie Alameda. Headliners this year include the Kenny Neal Family Band, Nick Schnebelen and the Backwater Blues Band.

The festival kicks off on Friday evening Aug. 18 with a meet-and-greet and pro jam session from 7pm to 11pm; continues all day and into the evening on Saturday; and concludes with a jam session and party from 1pm until 4pm on Sunday where locals can sign up to play with the pros.

Three-day all event tickets, advance only, are $45 for adults and $10 for children ages 5 to 10. Adult one-day event tickets are $25 in advance & $30 at the gate. Tickets can be purchased and more information on the festival found at www.bajabluesfest.org. Tickets also can be purchased at Baja's Click-on KM 44 on the Free Rd.
