TIJUANA At least 12 people were injured after theme park Mundo Divertidos swing ride collapsed, this is the second time that an accident of this magnitude has happened.
According to local newspaper Frontera, two people were rushed to the hospital due to severe injuries while the rest were being evaluated by first responders.
Seven of the victims were minors and five more adults, among them a pregnant women and a 3-year-old baby.
A mechanical failure was the cause of the accident which caused the upper part of the swing ride to collapse.
Tijuanas local government and fire department had already issued a fine to the amusement park Mundo Divertido, not just for their roller coaster accident earlier this year, but also for other irregularities found all over the amusement park.
