Court declares Peña Nieto winner of elections

Approved by unanimity

With a unanimous vote the Mexican Electoral Court validated today the presidential elections held back in July with which Enrique Peña Nieto's victory is made official; the Revolutionary Institutional Party's (PRI) candidate would now be the President Elect.

Peña Nieto's success was based on him receiving 19'158,592 votes, a 38.2 percent of the total of votes casted against the 15'848,827 (31.6 percent) Andrés Manuel López Obrador, from the left, received.

It is expected that Peña Nieto receives legal evidence from the Electoral Court of the Judiciary of the Federation (TEPJF) that will declare him the "President Elect."
