The daily report of the Secretary of Health, Alonso Pérez Rico, was interrupted this Wednesday by a call from the federal government, where he was notified about a new shipment of vaccines that will arrive to Baja California and with which it is expected to begin the vaccination of 40-49 year olds in another of its municipalities.

"As soon as the information we have just received is confirmed, we will make it known. But Baja California is opening a new municipality in the 40-49 group, it will surely be in the city of Tijuana, before the end of this week, between tomorrow and the day after tomorrow", he commented, although he added that as long as they send the shipment.

Let's remember that last May 30, Mexicali was the first municipality at state and national level to start vaccinating these adults with AstraZeneca. Today, Ensenada is also adding the vaccine from this pharmaceutical company; and Tijuana is expected to do the same this week.

Pérez Rico mentioned that this last information will be confirmed today in the afternoon, or in any case, tomorrow morning.

In Baja California only 14% of the population is fully vaccinated against COVID-19, this means 372 thousand 748 people with a complete vaccination schedule. While 676 thousand 807 more, have only their first dose.
