Tijuana Tech Tour is welcoming participants this weekend

Tech Entrepreneurs will have new opportunities

TIJUANA.- Foreign investment is one of the most vital components of job creation and economic improvement for this border region, which is why the City of Tijuana is extending an invitation to the Tijuana Tech Tour, taking place now and until August 2nd throughout the city.

During a recent press conference, Xavier Peniche, head of Tijuana's Secretary of Economic Development (Sedeti), indicated that this event will showcase success stories in the entrepreneurial realm in the fields of technology, and will invite investors, managers, and company owners to share their experiences to foster capital growth in this border region.

According to Peniche, "one of the instructions we've received from Tijuana Mayor Jorge Astiazaran is that we take advantage of our geographic location in order to promote binational projects; during the first edition of Tijuana Tech Tour we will be visited by managers, directors, and venture capitalists that have indicated interest in developing projects that are viable and would benefit from the binational region..

It is worth noting that this project is a combined effort of various companies, industrial bodies, and local government, which seeks to reinforce economic growth and replicate success stories throughout Tijuana.

Emma Cruz, local representative of Angel Ventures in Mexico, indicated that the event will kick off at Hub Station, located in the old Mexicoach building on Avenida Revolucion #1025 at 6 pm, and will include guest speakers from foreign technology industries.

On Friday, August 1, various tours will take place to visit other local work stations that have expanded infrastructure and have created a more dynamic economic ecosystem, such as Bit Center, Sonata, Mind Hub, and Index Open Studio.

Finally, Miguel Marshall, co-founder of Hub Station, indicated that the event will conclude on Saturday, August 2nd in Guadalupe Valley, in order to incentivize local business owners with opportunities for growth. The Tijuana Tech Tour will also include networking events where collaboration and project ideas can be discussed amongst guests.
