Mexico is preparing for a year full of administrative changes in 2024. The presidency, state cabinets, and municipal cabinets will be renewed next year; among them, there is Tijuana, one of the most important cities in the country, which is also preparing to deal with these administrative changes.
Among all the possible candidates that will show up at the ballot, Movimiento Ciudadano (MC) has confirmed that Tijuana native businessman and national delegate, David Saúl Guakil Hernández will be their candidate.
The state coordinator of MC, Bertha Alicia Sánchez Lara, confirmed that the Tijuana native businessman stood out as the best option, after several polls, in which he ended up being the most qualified to compete for Tijuana's mayor's office.

The business career of David Guakil has traversed through all possible commercial areas: from his youth when he used to do business among the streets of Avenida Revolución in Tijuana all the way until present day as the head of Cosmopolitan Group. His career in public life began in 1993 when he was named as the executive vice president of the National Chamber of Commerce (CANACO) of Tijuana; that same year he became president of the Association of Clothing, Textile, and Novelty Merchants of Baja California.
His first federal position came to be between 2013 to 2015 when he was named as Federal Delegate of the Secretariat of Economy of Baja California. Lastly, and until present day, in 2014 he became president of the Administrative Council of Cosmopolitan Group.
David Guakil has shown throughout the years a genuine interest in the fundamental needs that exist in Tijuana. His vision as a businessman show his ability to take control, not only of companies, but also to identify issues, plan quick solutions, and get positive results.
Without a doubt, his name will stand out as one of the strongest candidates that will compete for Tijuana's mayor's office in 2024.
