Marina del Pilar increases actions that socially and economically benefit women in Baja California

One of the current administration’s priorities has been to promote a great inclusion of women in work and social spaces

The current administration of Baja California led by Governor Marina del Pilar has always been aware of women’s needs, especially those who are vulnerable and those who want to grow economically to help their families.

In the 67th edition of “Wednesday Morning Press Conference with Marina del Pilar” which took place in the city of Mexicali, the state governor stated that, following the principles of the Fourth Transformation, the administration that she leads has developed economic aid policies with a gender focus, as 83% of credits and financing programs have been for women.

Marina del Pilar stated that, since the beginning of her administration and until December 2022, they have supported and financed 1,216 business projects led by women, allocating an investment of 40 million pesos to make their dreams a reality.

In addition, she also reiterated that she has been working in coordination with the government led by the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, to maintain low poverty rates, which has resulted in Baja California being 21.4 percentage points below the national average, as it is the state with the lowest percentage of people living in poverty.

She also stated that this is due to the economic dynamism of the region, which has allowed it to attract 356 million dollars in the last quarter of 2022, almost one fourth of the investments registered nationwide, which means that the state continues to be a proper space for growth.

This economic dynamism means that 97.3% of the economically active population of Baja California has a job, which helps the fight against inequality that the Fourth Transformation supports as a social and political movement.
