Tijuana and Rosarito beaches will remain closed due to high tide

The Civil Protection Agency warns people not to go to the beach due to the high tide that has been seen in the touristic coast of Playas de Tijuana

Authorities from the city of Tijuana recommend people to abstain from going to the beach due to the strong waves that have been occurring in the last few days in order to prevent accidents.

Civil Protection warns the population to not go to the beach due to the high tide that has been seen in the touristic coast of Playas de Tijuana. The tide grew to such a degree that it is reaching the beach’s retaining wall, as the waves are almost 4 meters (13 feet high).

The same warning was issued for residents in Playas de Rosarito, where the tide has caused material damages this week on Thursday and Friday. As such, authorities closed the beaches and touristic areas with access to the sea until further notice.

After these preventive measures, authorities consider that there is no risk of any accidents.

The appearance of high tide is due to cold front number 22 which arrived in Baja California, alongside winds, frost, and rain.
