Marina del Pilar administration will continue to strengthen the fight against impunity in Baja California

Throughout this year, the governor’s administration has achieved more than 2,000 guilty sentences

Governor Marina del Pilar highlighted the work carried out daily by members of the Attorney General Office (FGE) of Baja California in order to deal with impunity and corruption crimes. This work benefits and provides safety and justice to Baja Californian families.

During the award ceremony for Attorney General Office members that took place in the city of Playas de Rosarito, the governor spoke about the great value that providing justice has in her government’s agenda.

"Peace and security, as stated by our President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, are a result of justice, to have that tranquility we need honest and professional people with the ideal conditions so that they can do their work,” she said.

Marina del Pilar emphasized the permanent communication that exists between the Coordination Council of Security Matters, which belongs to security organizations in the three levels of government such as municipal police departments, the State Agency of Investigation, the State Forces of Citizen Security, the National Guard, the Secretariat of National Defense (SEDENA), and the Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR).

In her speech to agents recognized for their work, the governor asked them to maintain their commitment with Baja Californian families, so that strategies are more effective.

“You are all an example for your families and Baja Californian people. Personally, I am committed so that we can maintain communication, because success will only come from the inner workings we have as security organizations,” she said.

Marina del Pilar pointed out that in Baja California efforts will continue to be carried out in order to fight against impunity, so that all criminals pay for their crimes in order to create tranquility for the families of Baja California.

For his part, the Attorney General of Baja California, Ricardo Iván Carpio Sánchez, presented his report about the main results of this institution in 2022. Between the months of January and October more than 2,400 criminals were sentenced, reflecting the work carried out by this agency.

At the same time, Carpio Sánchez told the awarded agents that they have their support so that they can carry out their work, so that conditions can be improved so that justice can be delivered in Baja California.

He explained the characteristics of the institutional strengthening model called Fortaleza, which will improve the efficiency of the several different departments of this institution in order to provide prompt and quick justice for all people.

At this event the mayor of Playas de Rosarito, Araceli Brown Figueredo, representative of the XXIV Legislature of the Congress of Baja California, Rosa García Zamarripa, and prosecutor of Specialized Units, Denisse Hernández Chacón were all present.
