Baja Californian Governor, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda and Pacific Governors met in the II Military Region in Mexicali to sign a collaboration and coordination agreement regarding regional security matters.

The states of Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, and Sonora recognized the need to establish a combined participation link in order to share information about citizen security matters, as well as standardize processes in order to make coordination easier.

The Interstate Coordination and Collaboration Agreement for the Exchange of Information of Public Security Matters will allow, among other things, to contain and combat violent crime rates, reduce armed attacks among crime groups that are committed at or through the boundaries of each state, and prevent or deter crimes from being committed.

The governors’ combined effort commits itself to widen the use of information technologies to establish highway arches in the boundaries of each federal state, which will boost regional intelligence tasks.
