With its relatively little tortillas and offering aguamole, Tijuana's Tacos El Poblano #1 disappoints

Their adobada taco has a unique flavor that not other Tijuana taquerias provide

Our presenter, chef Danny Betancourt, visited "Tacos El Poblano #1" on Av. Paseo del Guaycura, Ampliación Guaycura, in this episode of Una Mordida Tacos Tijuana. Two very conventional tacos, one with roast beef and the other with marinade, were eaten on this occasion, both priced at $25 pesos ($1.25 dlls).

Tacos de asada

This was the first one given to our host; it consisted of roast beef, aguamole, onion, cilantro, red sauce, and two packed corn tortillas. The size of the tortillas, which were modest, was the first thing Danny mentioned. He described the taco as "little but fiery" because, despite its tiny size, it had much taste in its meat, which was supple and moist, as well as the marinade's orange and onion tones.

The "guacamole," which turned out to be aguamole because it was blended with liquid, and the size of the tortillas were both flaws in this taco, as it vanished within two bites, earning it a 6.9 rating.

The cost is $25 pesos ($1.25 dlls).

Tacos with Salsa

Danny initially commented on how golden brown the tortillas in this taco were and how well-colored the marinated meat was. Onion, cilantro, aguamole, red sauce with chile de arbol, and pineapple pieces make up the taco, which you won't find elsewhere in Tijuana.

The tortillas in this taco are little from the packet, similar to the last taco. When he tried it, he said the meat had a lot of taste, the sauce was more spicy than the asada taco, and the pineapple offered a nice contrast. On the other hand, our host would have preferred a handmade tortilla or, in his case, a more standard size tortilla so that this taco would have a higher level, which it did not. Small nuances like this detract from a taco's overall rating; therefore this received a 6.6.

The cost is $25 pesos ($1.25 dlls).

Although Tacos El Poblano #1 is not listed on Google Maps, we have provided the address where you may locate them.
