In Baja, California, about 4,000 kids have been infected with Covid-19

During the fourth wave of infections, positive cases among minors have rebounded

Positive instances of Covid-19 continue to rise worldwide, especially after the emergence of the Omicron form, which has shown to be more infectious than the previous ones, even though it has affected kids in this fourth wave of infections in Baja California.

According to information released by ISESALUD's State Chief of Epidemiology, Dr. scar Efrén Zazueta Fierro, there have been 4,328 positive cases among children in Baja California, including 60 regrettable fatalities attributable to the virus. No one is immune from presenting a devastating image of the disease to this age group in the state.

In turn, Zazueta Fierro explained that during the fourth wave of infections, positive cases in minors have rebounded, particularly in Tijuana and Mexicali, where more infections have been confirmed in this age group, prompting him to call on Baja Californian society to respect sanitary measures and capacity to protect the community, because this virus affects everyone.

He noted that the next few weeks are essential for the pandemic's evolution, citing the end of January and the beginning of February as critical times for an accelerated increase in active cases, which will define the pandemic's path in the state.
