The Ministry of Health, led by J. Adrián Medina Amarillas, initiated a coordinated effort with concessionaires in the entity to enhance sanitary measures in vehicles and promote self-care with the goal of reducing COVID-19 transmission among users of public transportation.

Transport officials from throughout the organization met with the Chief of Health and promised that starting today, they would clean the units at the conclusion of each journey and encourage users to wear the face mask at all times.

In addition, Medina Amarillas urged drivers to be vaccinated so that they are protected, as they are continually exposed to COVID-19, and he pledged to supply face masks and cleaning solutions to all those unable to obtain them.

During the occasion, laminated, perforated transport leaders were distributed to be posted in public transportation units around the state, as well as face masks for drivers to send to customers who do not wear them to minimize transmission chains.

Erwin Areizaga Uribe, the state commissioner for the Protection Against Sanitary Risks, thanked the transporters for their cooperation and support, reiterating that the Mobility Institute Sustainable, which will hold driver training courses, will be in charge of reviewing the correct measures that must be implemented in the transport units.

Aarón Pallares Aceves, the Institute for Sustainable Mobility's coordinator of Delegates, invited all transport workers to participate in the implementation of COVID-19 prevention measures, as they are one of the groups most exposed daily, and their work is extremely important to our entity's economy.

COEPRIS, the State Commission for the Protection Against Sanitary Risks, has promised to provide materials for the reproduction of messages encouraging the use of face masks and the promotion of COVID-19 vaccination, which is one of the most important tools in the fight against the pandemic.
