General Gilberto Landeros Briseo was appointed Secretary of Citizen Security by the current Governor of Baja California, Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda, to give the residents of Baja California the peace and quiet they deserve.

Landeros Briseo has a half-century of professional experience that he will utilize to bring peace of mind and confidence to the residents' benefit. He is the Security Chief with the greatest expertise and recognition in Baja California's history, having received six awards during his military service.

General Landeros, a native of Jalisco, enrolled at the Heroic Military College in 1969 and graduated in 1973 as a Second Lieutenant of the Infantry.

Landeros served in the infantry and parachute rifle battalions, where he held positions such as Commander of Section and Company, Chief of Instruction, Information, and Operations, and Second Commander and Group Chief.

Similarly, he had taught both in the Army, where he was Head of the Pedagogical Section and teacher and outside of it, when he taught at the Ibero-American University's Civil Protection and Disaster Prevention Diploma. He made major speeches on the Mexican embassies in the United States and El Salvador.

Landeros has held different commanders, including battalions and brigades, as well as the military garrison in Manzanillo, Colima, and military zones like the Trigesimosexta in Tapachula, Chiapas, and the Segunda in Tijuana.

He served as a military and air associate in our country's diplomatic representations in France, Belgium, Holland, Italy, and Israel, participating in activities related to the United Nations Organization's Convention against Organized, Transnational Crime and its Protocols, as well as the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons' Chemical Weapons Convention (OPCW).

Landeros has spent nearly 50 years fighting for peace in Mexico and across the world, and he will now put that knowledge to work for Baja Californians and Baja Californians.
