Marina del Pilar emphasizes a socially responsible budget for 2022 in Baja, California

Marina del Pilar vila Olmeda, the Governor of Baja California, announced her commitment to the efficient use of public resources to meet the needs of the Baja California people on the last Wednesday of the year. She also told the main axes of the state budget for the Fiscal Year 2022, which highlights key issues such as support for women, the disabled, the elderly, sports, and culture.

During the most recent "Morning Wednesday with Marina del Pilar," the president stated that the budget project calls for an increase in health spending of more than 541 million pesos, 179 million for high schools and universities, 18 million for the Mexicali Valley's transportation system, and 42 million for the restructuring and operation of shelters for girls, boys, and adolescents.

As part of a public policy aimed at strengthening gender equality, she added that an additional seven million pesos had been allocated to the Justice Center for Women. In comparison, the Women's Institute in Baja, California will receive more than six million pesos, bringing the total to more than 644 million in programs and actions to address the agenda from a gender perspective.

The 2022 budget will feature an investment of more than 62 billion pesos, which is more than 7% higher than in 2021, indicating that it is feasible to correctly manage resources that have a direct influence on improving people's lives regardless of their economic and social circumstances.

Similarly, Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda said that the budget paper was established without clashes, encouraging communication and the sum of wills, features of the political and administrative transformation that Baja California is undergoing.

The Governor emphasized that the primary job of the government is to have a beneficial influence on citizens' everyday lives, particularly those who need it the most, as stated by Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador: "For the good of all, the poor first."

As a result, he expressed his gratitude to the parliamentarians and legislators of the Baja California Congress, who showed readiness to support a budget that prioritizes the welfare of the majority population groups, so moving Baja California and its people closer to better conditions.

As part of the transparency initiative, Governor Marina del Pilar Avila Olmeda stated that no new taxes will be imposed in 2022, but the base of social welfare benefits will be enlarged, with government assistance reaching an increasing number of homes in the organization.

The budget was developed after a thorough analysis of the state's needs and full responsibility and austerity, without neglecting the state's commitments to the Baja California people in various areas, according to Marco Antonio Moreno, the Secretary of Finance for the State of Baja California.

Women, girls, boys, and adolescents, individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and representatives of indigenous peoples residing in the state territory, particularly in rural regions, would all benefit, she said.

Another significant point will be the establishment of ministries of Fisheries, Tourism, Environment, Social Inclusion, and Citizen Security and an administrative reengineering aimed at prioritizing socially relevant investments while avoiding additional spending on the bureaucratic structure.

Finally, the Governor stated that the Fourth Transformation is consolidated in Baja California. The most important thing for the government is the people and their most pressing needs, indicating a desire to work together to construct a more prosperous future for everybody.
