The lane of the Sentri line to the San Ysidro international gatehouse was the scene of a gunshot on Sunday, December 13, at 9:30 p.m. There was reportedly reported that it was a major crossing into the United States illegally, although CBP has not confirmed this. Due to the above, the border was forced to close for about an hour.

According to a CBP official, one of the border patrol agents was obliged to discharge a firearm, but no injuries were recorded. On the other hand, it is known that a detainee is being questioned by San Diego authorities.

As a result, US officials have requested that anybody with information about the incident contact them at the San Diego Police Department at (619) 531-2293 or through the Crime anonymous information line. Don't hesitate to contact Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.

In terms of what transpired, it was first assumed that the line was closed owing to a new attempt by Central American migrants attempting to enter illegally; however, this was later ruled out since unofficial sources said that it was an effort to cross by vehicles.

However, some sources claim that many Russian and Ukrainian immigrants were attempting to enter the border; thus, the cops intervened immediately to halt the situation. CBP has yet to corroborate either of these accounts but has stated that they continue to work with the San Diego Police Department on the relevant investigations.

Similarly, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has advised that anybody planning to enter the United States should check the wait times on the opposite side of the border.
