Restrictions on swap meets until next Tuesday in these neighborhoods of Tijuana

Due to the accumulation of active cases, these markets cannot be installed next Tuesday

According to the head of the Health Secretariat of Baja California, Alonso Pérez Rico, a letter was sent to the different municipalities of the state to restrict the installation of swap meets in the neighborhoods where active COVID-19 cases are concentrated.

Upon observing these transmission chains, the Secretary mentioned that until next Tuesday, January 19, these markets cannot be placed in these neighborhoods.

In the case of Tijuana, the neighborhoods where there will be no swap meets due to the accumulation of this type of cases are the following:

  • Sánchez Taboada (10 active cases)
  • Zona Río (8 active cases)
  • Las Delicias (7 active cases)
  • Torres del Lago (7 active cases)
  • Presidentes (6 active cases)
  • Abedules ( 5 active cases)
  • Mariano Matamoros Sur (5 active cases)

In the rest of the state some of the neighborhoods with the highest number of active cases and where these swap meets will not be placed either are Benito Juárez in Tecate, Constitución in Playas de Rosarito, Independencia in Mexicali, Guadalupe Victoria in the Mexicali Valley, Segunda Sección in San Felipe, Valle Dorado (Sección Ríos) in Ensenada, and El Nuevo Mexicali in San Quintín.

As of this morning, the active cases by COVID-19 in Baja California total 977, of which 398 are located in Tijuana.
