The government of Baja California announced on its social media accounts that to avoid further contagion, bars, nightclubs and event halls will be closed. While restaurants and cafeterias that comply with sanitary measures will be able to continue operating at 30% of their capacity.
In the publication they emphasize the importance of taking care of ourselves in order to be able to see ourselves and go out to nightclubs, for the moment the closures are indefinite but it is expected that when we go under the orange light they can reopen following the security measures.
Previously, religious centers such as churches and temples were also closed, as well as non-essential activities such as gyms, swimming pools and message centers.
These new measures that will be carried out are due to the fact that Baja California will continue one more week at a red light of maximum alert, which means that hospitals are saturated and cases of infection are on the rise.
Today, 900 active cases of coronavirus were registered, with Mexicali being the municipality with the most cases of COVID-19, with a total of 423 cases, followed by Ensenada and Tijuana with 187 and 163 cases respectively. Then there is San Quintín with 42 cases, Tecate with 26, Rosarito with 21 and the rest at San Felipe.
Baja California is one of the three states that are at a red light, along with Mexico City and the State of Mexico, which is why Dr. Alonso Pérez Rico invited citizens to stay home and avoid going out to buy gifts for Christmas.
