The President of the Civil Association of Tourism Merchants of Tijuana, Julian Palombo, told San Diego Red about the next event to be held on Revolution Avenue in Tijuana's downtown area on the Day of the Dead.

This event, called "Altares and Catrinas en la Revolucion" (Altars and Catrinas on the Revolution), was born as an initiative of Lorena Saul, owner of Café Baristi, with the purpose of sharing one of the most emblematic and internationally recognized Mexican traditions, the Day of the Dead.

Thus, from October 26th to November 2nd, "La Revu", as this avenue is also known, will be filled with the dead and catrinas thanks to the collaboration of 36 businesses who will place, inside or outside their facilities, an altar of the dead for that person who has died and whom they want to honor.

According to Julian Palombo, in addition to these offerings made by the merchants, attendees will be able to visit a "High Altar", which will be located between Revolution Avenue and Fifth Street, sponsored by the Department of Sustainable Economy and Tourism (SEST) of Baja California, which will be made in memory of people who contributed to the famous avenue.

"In the High Altar we are considering honoring characters that as businessmen were on Revolution Avenue and somehow transcended in their passage through it; in the sense of how they highlighted their business, what they contributed and so on. We have characters like Mr. Mariano Escobedo, Margarito Sanchéz, Don Jorge Escobedo, Engineer Antonio Escobedo who was also one of the pioneers, among others," explained the President of this association.

If you want to join this traditional celebration and know each of the altars present in this exhibition, here we leave you the route and establishments that will be ready for you to visit, such as: Giuseppis, Cine Tonala, Black Box, Insurgente Tap Room, Rubiks, Zebra, La Justina, among others.
