Through its Gaceta Universitaria, the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) announced yet another achievement for the Big Horn community, after positioning itself for the fourth consecutive time in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2021, where it was ranked 1001+.

In this edition, UABC was placed among the one thousand 500 best institutions of higher education in 93 countries, being at the same time, one of the 16 Mexican universities that managed to enter this ranking.

What did they evaluate? In order to be part of this list, 13 indicators were considered that are grouped into the following criteria: teaching, educational environment, citations in publications, internationalization, income from technology transfers and research.

For his part, the dean of the UABC, Dr. Daniel Octavio Valdez Delgadillo, said that in addition to efforts to maintain the quality of their teaching processes, they also work to provide more educational spaces, as in the recent entrance exams where 22 thousand 180 places were offered, of which 16 thousand 558 applicants were selected in their first career option, representing an admission of 58%.

At the same time, he emphasized that despite not having enough economic resources, due to the debt that the state government has, the institution does not stop and continues to offer its student community and society in general its substantive functions of teaching, research and extension of culture and science.
