The Baja California Institute of Culture (ICBC) will present the exhibition called "Tejido Facial" by Korean artist Chaa Youn Woo at the Tijuana State Arts Center (CEART).

Chaa You Woo is a Korean plastic artist based in California, who has exhibited his work in various parts of the world and in many museums and galleries in the United States and Mexico.

The inauguration of "Tejido Facial" will take place on Saturday, Feb. 17 at the International Gallery of CEART Tijuana at 6:00 p.m. Free admission.

Chaa Youn Woo learned the trade of knitting with a plant called "Aruma," which is cultivated by the Baniwa tribes of the Amazon.

During the time he lived with these communities, Youn Woo learned to perfect the patterns of the fabrics to obtain specific designs. In this way, he mixes the technique of ancestral practices with portraiture and creates pieces of facial representations.
